Tennessee Crab
Orchard Quarry Stone. This regional, rugged, beautiful sandstone is
known worldwide for it hardness and colorful appearance. It is found
only on the Cumberland Plateau and is coveted for building and
landscaping purposes. It comes out of the quarries in various
thicknesses of layers and colors, including brown and tan,
buff, rose, blue-gray, and variegated. Best known for its Flagstone.
Thin Crab Orchard Flagstone:Sizes
range from 1/2" to 1" thick and 6" to 24" or more across in random
pieces. mainly used as a veneer, sometimes as flooring material. Colors
range from Blue/Gray, Buff, Brown & Tan, and Varigated (the most sought
after color).
Covers approx. 140 sq. ft. per ton
Regular Crab Orchard Flagstone:
Sizes range from 1" to 1 3/4" thick and 6" to 24" or more across in
random pieces. It is the most popular stone used for walkways, patios,
wet areas such as pools and decks because of its natural non-slip
texture and relatively smooth surface. Colors range from Blue/Gray, Buff,
Brown & Tan, Rose, and Varigated (the most sought after color).
Covers approx. 110 sq. ft. per ton
2" Crab Orchard Flagstone:
Sizes range from 1 3/4" to 2 1/2" thick and 6" to 24" or more across in
random pieces. Also a popular stone (thicker and heavier) used for
walkways, patios, stepping stones, stack stone, etc.
